Maksud Ahammed: DMP(Dhaka Metropolitan Police) detained ‘more than 300 activists of the banned AL from the main office of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal- JASAD at Gulistan’s GPO intersection in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.According to Police Source, they detained them at about 3:00pm while they were allegedly holding a secret meeting under the banner of the Awami League, whose activities have been banned.Paltan model police station officer-in-charge Ariful Alam confirmed the incident to The Daily Tourist correspondant.
Meanwhile, Jasad alleged that its central representatives’ meeting at the party office was attacked during the programme, and several leaders and activists were injured in the incident.
Jasad office secretary Sazzad Hossain said BNP-affiliated activists carried out a sudden attack during the meeting, injuring several JASAD leaders and activists.
